It’s been ten years since Sıla burst on to the scene with her chart-topping, self-titled debut album, which contained smash hit …Dan Sonra. The song stayed at number one for three months and was the world’s 12th most watched video of 2007.
Last year, the Denizli pop star released her sixth studio album Mürekkep (‘Ink’) to critical acclaim. The album hit the top spot following its release in May 2016, and has enjoyed two hit singles – Afitap and Engerek – to date.
Sıla penned all 11 tracks on Mürekkep, working with some of Turkey’s leading musicians and producer to make her sixth studio album, including long-term collaborator Efe Bahadır, Fatih Ahıskalı and İskender Paydaş.
The album includes both upbeat pop songs and tender, soulful ballads, with a dance remix by Bedük (Engerek) and a recording with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra (Can Dostum).
Continuing her European tour, Sıla returns to the British capital later this year. Catch her live at Indigo at The O2 in April.
