Police appeal for information after a Turkish man is shot dead in Tottenham

A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 30s was shot and killed in a Turkish social club on White Hart Lane, North London, late on Sunday night.

Although the identity of the man has yet to be formally released, T-VINE understands the man lived locally and his family hails from Turkiye.

The emergency services were called to an incident on White Hart Lane, close to the junction with Tottenham High Road, shortly after 23.30hrs on Sunday, 30 July.

Police officers attended along with paramedics and found a man with gunshots. Despite the best efforts of the medical personnel present, the man died at the scene a short time later.

The outside of the building housing Inspire Printers and Tottenham Gençlerbirliği Spor Kulübü, where the shooting is believed to have occurred, remains sealed off as a crime scene and homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Team are investigating.

No arrests have been made to date and enquiries are ongoing.

On Thursday afternoon, members of the Turkish Police Association visited Haringey’s Cemevi and Cultural Centre on Clarendon Road, Hornsey, to reassure the local Turkish community and to discuss any concerns.
