After a three-year absence due to the coronavirus pandemic, the annual celebration of Turkish Cypriot culture is back this summer, taking place on Sunday, 02 July 2023.
The festival organisers, the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations UK (CTCA) are sticking with their North London venue again for this year: Enfield Playing Fields on Donkey Lane – an aptly named venue for Turkish Cypriots given the national animal of their ethnic homeland of North Cyprus is the Karpaz wild donkey.
First held in 2017, the festival had switched online during the pandemic, but now returns to its regular format of a large outdoor extravaganza.
The family-friendly event offers something for everyone, from British and Turkish Cypriot popular music, to traditional folk dancing, tasty food stalls, arts & crafts vendors, children’s face painting, and funfair rides.
So, save the date in your diaries and look out for more details about the Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival 2023.
