Kem Cetinay announced as new radio presenter on The Capital Weekender

Kem Cetinay found fame on Love Island, winning ITV’s hit reality show in Season Three back in 2017. He’s gone on to design highly popular men’s fashion ranges for Primark, and made multiple television appearances including on ITV‘s This Morning, Dancing on Ice and, more recently, as a contestant on the BBC’s Celebrity MasterChef.

And now, the British Turkish Cypriot star from Hornchurch turns his hand to radio presenting on Capital Radio.

Earlier this week, Capital’s parent company Global announced that Kem was starting as a new presenter on The Capital Weekender. The young star has covered shows on Capital before, but now gets his own show, replacing Mistajam, who left in June after four years at the station.

Speaking about his new role, Kem said: “Taking the reins of The Capital Weekender and joining the Global family is a dream come true, and I am absolutely buzzing to get started!

“I’ll be making sure to get your weekend started off right with massive vibes and non-stop hits every Friday and Saturday night 7-10pm!”

Capital’s Managing Editor Brent Tobin added: “We’re delighted that Kem will be stepping into this new role on The Capital Weekender.

“Kem brings an energy and charisma to Capital whenever he has stepped in as a guest presenter, and has been exhilarating and a lot of fun! Our audience has really connected with him, and we are so excited to have him join us as the host of The Capital Weekender.”

The star’s started his new show on Capital Radio on Friday, 5th July. He’ll be back on-air next weekend. Catch him live on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm to 10pm. You can listen to the station on your smart speaker. (just ask your smart speaker to “Play Capital”!) or tune in on the FM dial (for London, its 95.8 MHz) You can also listen online at capitalfm.com, through your TV, and on DAB radio. Alternatively, download the Global App to your phone.
