An actor who played one of the main characters on global hit television drama series, Diriliş: Ertuğrul, will be in the UK in December to discuss his life, role and the impact the show had on Muslims.
Celal Al, who played Abdurrahman Gazi for all five seasons of Diriliş: Ertuğrul and continued in the successor series Kuruluş: Osman, will have a night of conversation with fans in Birmingham.
Set in thirteenth century Anatolia, Diriliş: Ertuğrul is about the father of Osman I, who established the Ottoman Empire. The show captivated millions across the globe, and is credited for strengthening Muslim identity and values, which are central to the Turkish characters featured in the historical fiction and adventure series.
British Muslim publishers Al Buru Press are organising an evening with Celal Al at the Bia Lounge. Al played Abdurrahman Gazi, a real-life historic figure who was one of the main warriors with Ertuğrul and went on to become an early Ottoman commander.
Al will be talking about his role in the two series and how it inspired him. He will also be discussing the impact of the hit series, and share thoughts on Islamic Identity around the world, and also how to play a positive role in society today.
The evening will include a Question and Answer session with the audience, allowing fans the opportunity to ask the questions they have never had answers for. The evening is free of charge, but prior registration is essential.
