It’s been a long time in coming, but fans of B Young don’t have much longer to wait before they can get their hands on a copy of his debut album.
Titled ‘Differences’, the 16-track LP goes on sale on 30 July. A black and white side portrait photo of the melodic rapper graces the front cover.
The track list has yet to be released, but is likely to includes some of the East London singer’s big hits Gucci Demon and Wine.
From Hackney and of Turkish Cypriot origin with family roots from Mağusa, North Cyprus, started his music career as a sound engineer, before turning his skills to singing and song writing.
The talented 26-year-old, whose real name is Bertan Jafer, has cultivated a reputation for his melodic style and ‘quality over quantity’ approach to releasing music.
He is best known for his breakthrough single, Jumanji, which was released via Columbia Records. It peaked at number 13 on the UK singles chart in 2018 and was certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
079ME – B Young’s follow-up to Jumanji – went Gold, peaking at number 23 in the charts. These two songs alone have in excess of 100 million views on YouTube.

The artist, who is signed to Sony, was expected to drop his debut last month and apologised to fans on his Instagram for the slight delay.
Under the post “DIFFERENCES THE ALBUM – 30TH JULY 2021”, which he shared on the last day of June, B Young wrote:
“I know I mentioned a June release, but being my first album there’s been a few delays and this is the earliest date we managed to pattern.
“No stress tho – 16 Track Album, all B Young standard [rock on hand emoji] 30th July 2021.”
