We’re a week away this year’s Turkish Cypriot Festival, which again returns to the Donkey Lane site in Enfield, North London. Now firmly embedded in the British Turkish social calendar, this annual event is organised by the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations (CTCA) UK.

If you’re a newcomer to the event, this is a large family-friendly event celebrating all things Turkish Cypriot. Expect a fabulous mix of music, folk dancing, and delicious Turkish Cypriot food, from kebabs to börek, gözleme and desserts like lokma (sweet dough balls) and muhallebi (milk pudding).

There are lots of stalls to visit, from community groups and Turkish schools to those selling contemporary and traditional handicrafts, such as decorative woven plates and baskets, charm bracelets and t-shirts.
