Next month, Turkish actor Levent Üzümcü brings his acclaimed one-man show Anlatılan Senin Hikayendir (It’s Your Story Being Told).
Written by Cengiz Toraman and adapted by Üzümcü, this contemporary play presents three different stories, starting with Uncle Mehmet from Anatolia. Told with warmth, sincerity and plenty of humour, these everyman tales connect around a common humanity, that their fate could just as easily be ours. To these life stories, Üzümcü adds in elements of his own as well as his take on Turkish current affairs.
After selling-out venues across Turkey in 2016 and 2017, Üzümcü is now touring the two-hour show in Europe. The seasoned actor has trod the boards in multiple plays, and starred in major TV soaps and films, including hit TV comedy show Avrupa Yakası (2004-2009), which propelled him to superstardom in his native Turkey.
Anlatılan Senin Hikayendir is being staged at the Islington Assembly Hall in North London and tickets are selling like hotcakes. Buy before it’s too late!
