Work by nine top Turkish artists living in Turkey and Britain has gone on display in east London for the third “Istanbul Meets London” exhibition.
Organised by art consultants Zeynep Ober and Gülce İlken, the event features a range of artworks including sculptures, marbling art, paintings and Anatolian handcrafted jewellery.
The“exquisite”exhibition aims to “breathe a new experience into art lovers who enjoy diversity through art”.
Those whose talents are being showcased are Nerkiz Akcura, Ayşe Özlem Yüksel, Belgin Şahin, Elif Özal Danışman, Gülden Belen, Nazan Kuşçu, Nerkiz Akçura, Saba Çağlar Güneyli, Seher Eyri Genç and Zehra Efe.
The exhibition, which started with an invitation-only reception on Wednesday evening and opened to the public on Thursday, 29 November, will also be available for viewing for three days next week, from Monday 3 December to Wednesday 5 December, from 11am to 5pm.
The event is being held in cooperation with Lifetime Learning, a charity that helps to tackle unemployment in the London borough of Tower Hamlets.
