Ahead of his performances at the Camden Fringe, acclaimed Turkish actor Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu will be at the Yunus Emre Institute in London for a special discussion about his fascinating new play DÜNYADA.
Istanbul-born Nuroğlu is best known for his chilling portrayal of Vedat in television drama series Sen Anlat Karadeniz (2018-19) and as Mehmet in Çemberimde Gül Oya. Internationally, he came to prominence after appearing in the Palme d’Or-winning Winter Sleep/Kış Uykusu (2014).
His new solo show DÜNYADA reimagines Will Eno’s celebrated monologue Title and Deed, offering an evocative exploration of migration, identity drift, and the fragile necessity of being witnessed in a digital age.
Nuroğlu’s talk at the Yunus Emre Institute will allow audiences to understand the creative process behind DÜNYADA, how he went about adapting Will Eno's work, the relationship between theatre and live cinema, and the challenges of bringing a contemporary Turkish production to international audiences.
The event will conclude with an audience Q&A.
