One of the biggest stars of Turkish rap, MERO, will be appearing in Britain for the first time, taking to the stage at East London’s historic Troxy venue for an exclusive date on 9 June.
Just 23 years old, MERO, real name Enes Meral, already has multiple hits in under his belt, including Hobby, Hobby, Wolke 10, Olabilir, and collaborations Hot Baklava, Ferrari and Kein Plan, featuring alongside Ezhel and Summer Cem, Eno, and Loredana respectively.
His debut single Baller los (2018) topped the charts in both Germany and Austria, propelling the Rüsselsheim born rapper to prominence. The hit song featured on MERO’s first studio album Ya Hero Ya Mero, released the following year, taking it to number one in three countries: Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. MERO’s popularity quickly ballooned.
To date, MERO, who raps in both German and Turkish, has released three studio albums and one EP. He has also collaborated with a host of renowned artists, including Tion Wayne, Murda, Soolking, Eno, Ezhel, Summer Cem and Ayliva. His track Konum Gizli (feat. Murda) was one of the biggest hits in Turkiye in 2022.
The rap star currently has over 4.1 million monthly listeners on Spotify and over 3.8 million YouTube subscribers, while his songs and videos enjoying over 1 billion streams and views across different music platforms.
Between 2021 and 2023, MERO has also been one of the judges on television music show O Ses Türkiye Rap [‘The Voice of Turkiye Rap’].
