British fans of chart-topping popstress Hadise will finally get the chance to see the supestar live in London when she appears at Indigo at The O2 next May.
A planned concert three years ago was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This time around, the Belgian-Turkish singer, dancer and television personality will make her London debut with her full band to deliver some of her biggest hits across her 20-year career, which include Prenses, Hay Hay and Küçük Bir Yol, and Fast Life.
Hadise has become a familiar face on Turkish and Belgian television screens not just for her vocal abilities, but also as a judge on popular TV shows O Ses Türkiye (the Turkish version of The Voice) and Belgium’s version of The X Factor.
The 37-year-old singer came to prominence herself in a talent contest in Belgium, where she grew up, appearing on singing competition show Idool back in 2003. Her breakout moment came with the release of her debut album Sweat in 2005.
Three years later, the singer’s self-titled album Hadise, which included both English and Turkish songs, propelled her to fame in Turkiye when one track, Deli Oğlan, became a number one hit in the country.
The family of Hadise Açıkgöz, to give the artist her full name, is of Turkic origin; a mix of Lezgin-Kumyk ancestry, who settled in Sivas, northeast Turkiye.
Hadise was born in Mol, near Antwerp, and has gone on to become an award-winning artist with hits in both Belgium and Turkiye.
To date, the star, who sings fluently in both English and Turkish, has released seven studio albums, one EPs, and 35 singles. Her music is a catchy mix of pop, R&B, and electro-pop, which have earned her multiple awards including a TMF Award (Belgium) and Golden Butterfly Award (Turkiye).
In 2009, she appeared as the Turkish entry for Eurovision with the song Düm Tek Tek, which finished fourth overall. The song was commercially released, earning Hadise her first number one in Belgium, as well as scoring her a big hit in Turkiye and across Europe, including Greece.
This past decade Hadise has opted to focus her music career in Turkiye, releasing three albums: Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer? (2011), Tavsiye(2014), and Şampiyon (2017), and an EP, Aşka Kapandım (2021).
Last week, the video of her latest single Sevmiyo, a smooth Turkish R&B ballad, dropped generating rave reviews from her fans all around the world. So, get your hands on her London tickets fast, as this is one concert that is guaranteed to sell out!
