Superb live, expect a rhythmically powerful, soulful, rooted and contemporary live set.
Olcay Bayir’s music is a natural marriage of her time-honoured Anatolian heritage and the vibrant, eclectic sounds of London.
Classically-trained in the UK as a soprano, collaborations with musicians from all around the world have informed Olcay’s music as much as the rich folk traditions of her youth.
Her debut album ‘Neva’ was a collection of Anatolian folk songs. The new album “Rüya” [Dream] was part funded by PRS Foundation’s Women Make Music programme and showcases Olcay’s own compositions.
Now in its 27thyear, the EFG London Jazz Festival is one of the UK’s landmark musical celebrations, renowned for showcasing an eclectic mix of talented musicians from around the world. The festival has long been acclaimed for its bold programmes featuring world-class artists and emerging stars, tailored to delight both fans and new audiences.
