Teenager arrested and charged after postman Necati Mehmet injured in Edmonton collision

A young woman is due to appear in court charged with failing to stop after a road traffic collision, using a vehicle without insurance and driving not in accordance with a licence. A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told T-VINE that Yasmin Mustafa, aged 18 (21.12.2001) of Hoppers Road, Palmers Green N21, was charged with the three offences on Sunday, 27 September. She was bailed to appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday,  27 October. The charges relate to a collision that occurred around 2.15pm on Hertford Road, Edmonton, N3 on Saturday, 26 September. Postman Necati Mehmet had just finished his rounds and was crossing Hertford Road by the junction with Cuckoo Hall Lane when he was struck and injured by a car that allegedly failed to stop. Mr Mehmet sustained a number of injuries and was taken to hospital. His condition was not life threatening.
