Last week, T-VINE broke the news that the private company that owns Tottenham Park Cemetery has gone into “voluntary liquidation”.
The news alarmed many British Turks who have relatives buried there, and there was anger too when the initial notices said the cemetery was “temporarily closed until further notice.”
Community pressure group Tottenham Park Cemetery Action Group (TPCAG) has since liaised with Axia Valuation Services and insolvency practice Aspect Plus, which is liquidating the site. They have confirmed the cemetery will be open daily to visitors from 9am to 3.30pm.
In the meantime, the liquidators are drawing up a list of creditors and are especially keen to hear from those who have paid and reserved a burial plot on the site that has yet to be used.
Any affected persons should contact Aspect Plus as a matter of urgency by telephone on 0800 988 1897 or email, Livia@aspectplus.co.uk.
The TPCAG are also asking all affected families to contact them, so they can keep a track of developments and make representations on their behalf. Email them at: actiongroup.tpc@gmail.com with the full name of the person who reserved the burial plot, along with copies of supporting documentation and photos of the plot.
Filiz Pirgot, who is a member of the TPCAG committee, told T-VINE, “We are here to help. Please do not delay [in contacting us] and please do pass this message on to friends and family today.”
