British Turkish Cypriot Erol Alkan has been making waves in his many creative guises, whether it be DJ, producer, label owner, club promoter, radio host or collaborator.
In a career spanning decades, Alkan’s history as a champion of alternative and electronic music culture, reads “almost like mythology”. He is the shy boy who snuck out of his bedroom window to play indie records to ruthlessly unforgiving crowds, and ended up transforming the London club scene, bridging disparate crowds and vibes with “experimentation and abandon”.
Taking place at North London’s iconic Alexandra Palace, Kaleidoscope boasts arguably the most scenic festival site in the capital, with panoramic views across the whole city, as well as the chance to explore hidden corners of the historic Palace and 196 acres of award-winning Park.
Now in its fourth year, the festival is fast becoming a fixture for music lovers, families and performers, partying their way through London’s summertime.
Alkan plays a disco set on the Cloud 10 DJ Stage, joining a stellar line-up featuring Heidi, Fabio & Grooveider, Wookie and Raw Silk, who are guaranteed to get the crowd moving up to sunset and beyond.
