What happens when an Arab, Persian and Turk walk into a bar? To find out, you need to head over to Kentish Town for this special comedy showcase featuring a host of Middle Eastern and Turkish origin comedians.
This Saturday’s event is a fundraiser in aid of Syria and Turkey earthquake relief charities. The line-up includes:
Nadz – a Palestinian comedienne, who brings hilarious real-life experiences to the stage, having performed across the UK and Los Angeles.
Darius Davies – an Iranian comedian and founder of HATE N LIVE with multiple sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Festival and is known for his combative, corrosive humour.
Baz Shadnia – a Turkish comic from Croydon and an alumnus of the AYN Theatre Group.
Maria Shehata – an multi award-winning American-Egyptian comedian, who has appeared on Dave Channel’s ‘The Comedy Guide To Life’, Showtime, Comedy Central, BBC, and Comic Relief’s viral Modern Dating Horror Stories.
Maria was tour support for Bill Burr, performed at Latitude Festival, and her writing has been published in Funny Women, British Comedy Guide, and The New York Times. She is co-host of the weekly comedy podcast 2 Non Doctors.
Sezar Alkassab – a Glaswegian-Iraqi comedian. His conversational comedy explores his heritage, managing cultural differences, social issues, relationships and more in a comedy act with silly stories, informed observations, and provocative punchlines.
The evening will be hosted by Assyrian comedian Jenan Younis, winner of BBC New Voices and the founder of Weapons of Mass Hilarity.
