Two of North London’s most notable musicians of Turkish Cypriot heritage are set to play Dugdale Arts Centre in Enfield Town as part of the week-long Enfield Culture Festival.
The cultural festival, which starts on 28 February and runs until 5 March, promises to be a “celebration of local culture and creativity” that will feature both local and national talent.
On Wednesday, 1 March, the spotlight turns to Turkish Cypriot culture, which will be represented by singer Devrim Baca and his father Erdoğan Baca from Kıbrıs Dörtlüsü (pictured top), who join Kemal Bedensel, Naime Kale and Reşo Ali from the Yetenekli Kıbrıslılar [Talented Cypriots] theatre group.
The quintet will perform in an “evening of conversation and music” presented by Turkish Cypriot Community Association (TCCA).
Called ‘Living Our Culture Through Music’, the TCCA event at the newly re-opened Dugdale Arts Centre will take the audience though a “lyrical journey through our shared cultural heritage”.
Tickets are priced £10 per person and are on sale now from the venue. Enfield Culture Festival is supported by Arts Council England.
